On 21 May 2011 , the Sec 1 & 2 cadets when to the Heritage Gallery . We learn about the different types of SCDF appliances . We looked around the gallery that contains the olden SCDF vehicles , badges , helmet and many more . The journey was fun, interesting and knowledgeable. :)

Sec 1 Fire Safety Practical Test

Hi! Last month, the Sec 1 cadets when to Clementi Fire Station for their Fire safety Pratical test. They learn the basic Fire drills teach by some Civil Defence officers. They took turns to do their test. Sec 1 cadets have fun! GOOOOOOOOO. :)

NCDCC CIP Hour

We do this CIP hour during the March Uniform Group Camp. We went to Redhill estate to give out flyers about our CIP program. NCDCC bond with each other so the Sec 1, 2 and 3 cadets mix up together. Along with Ma'am Meiying, Ma'am Ain and the SMs. We had fun adventuring! :)

During the March Uniform Group camp, NCDCC organise bonding session for Sec 1 & 2 cadets. RSM, CSM, ASMs plan this bonding session. So they come up with a game for us. Hi! Last month, the Sec 1 cadets went to visit CDA along with Ma'am Park & USM Azurah. They went there to see the furnace, smoky room and they were introduce to different fire extinguishers too. The Sec 1 cadets learn how the academy is runned. And it's their first time wearing Full U outside. Here are some of the pictures. They're having fun! Go Alpha! :)

From 27th - 29th December 2010 ,

NCDCC had our 3rd NCO Course conducted in school ! The NCOs and newly I.Cs had came to this course (: We had much fun bonding with each other. Although not many had attended, the atmosphere is still high and full of laughter. In this 3days , the Leaders had learnt much more from each other and we had gone through all the pain together. We learnt how to be more patient with others, teamwork and most importantly , the knowledge that our seniors had given us. :D

Urban Adventure Challenge !

On 6th November ,

5 of our NCDCC cadets plus 1 Teacher Officer had went to NCDCC Urban Adventure Challenge . They are SSGT Jiong Rui , LCP Jiang Rong , LCP Siti Saidatul Fitri, LCP Afiq and TO Mr Yang. Its was a very tiring day for the six of them. They had a small amazing race with other schools from Esplanade till Bugis Street. After the race, they went to Pei Hwa Public School for a short telematch to test their CD knowledge skills. Eventhough they did'nt won anything in the end , at least they tried their best and gain some experience !

Our NCDCC seniors

17 SEPTEMBER !

Its was the last and unforgettable day for the Sec 3s as it is their last day to be in the CCA .

Friday morning , we had PT at 1st level and no longer the 3rd level as CD Room had shifted to first floor . After that , we had recess and the Sec 3s had to changed to full uniform.

Next , it was P.O.P for the Sec 3s as some of them got their Sergeant ranks ! Their juniors , Apache and Bronco , were there to witness the event . At the finishing of the event , some of the Sec 1 cadets and Sec 2 cadets helped their seniors to put on their sergeant ranks . To end the event , all NCDCC cadets get to eat pizzas that were specially ordered to the Cougar !

Last CCA Day for Term 3 !

On 3rd September ,

It was a short day of CCA .

We did some stretchings for P.T in the morning . PTI for the day was I.C Iffah and NCO Lina ! Recess was next followed by plegetaking . After that , Apache had CD Shelter Test . Bronco had Hazmat Test and In-Place-Protection(IPP) Practical Test .

At 11.45 , all cadets were dismissed to take their report book .

After school , NCDCC shifted room to Student Councillor room and Apache had no training due to lack of manpower ! Eventhough Apache had no training , we are glad some of them came and helped the CDCs during the room shifting . It was very tiring for us to carry stuffs from Level 3 to Level 1 ! When everything is done , we went home !

27th August ,

YOG has eventually ended but the spirits of YOG is still alive !

In the morning , Platoon Heads took attendance of cadets . We then had mass run followed by recess. Apache and Bronco changed to Full Uniform ! After recess , we took pledge and uniform inspection. Those who need to improve on your uniform , do so you will look smarter when you are wearing it yeah !

Next , Apache learnt how to tie their boot laces, which is part of uniform etiquette followed by CD shelter . Bronco had Hazmat lessons and relax for Cougar ! We had even took pictures with Yogi Bear to bid farewell to him ! At 12.30 , all cadets were dismissed .

Afternoon lessons , Apache played some games . Lesson again for Bronco about Unconventional Threats .

13 AUGUST 2010 ,

An event called Henderson Olympics had been held in school ! All CCAs had the chance to hold the YOG flag and run around the field as a CCA ! During NCDCC's turn to run , all of us had felt the excitement of YOG ! After that , the Uniformed Groups had Inter-UG Games . The girls played Captain's ball while the boys played Rugby . Through that games , we learnt more about the 3 YOG values .

When the games ended , trophy given to the champions of the Inter-UG games ! The Sec 1 and 2 girls team had won the trophy ! Not forgetting , the Sec 2 boys too ! Even though some did'nt won the champion , they still enjoyed the games very much . The last event of all , the torch bearer ! NCO Afiq had been selected to be the one of the torch bearer in school ! He had done a great job representing school and CCA !

On 23rd July 2010 , NCDCC had a 'POC' for 4 SNCOs and a whole Platoon of Apache. The 4 SNCOs are USM Azurah , ASM Amirul, ASM Jiong Rui and last but not least , SNCO Nadzif ! The 4 of them were promoted to Staff Seargeant while Apache got their nametag ! Bronco was there to witness the event of promotion. We were proud of our Juniors and Seniors ! Maam Norita and Maam Park had helped the SNCOs to wear their new epaulette. For the Apache, the Bronco cadets had the honour to help their Juniors to wear the nametag on their uniform. After the parade had ended , NCDCC reported to the hall as there is an Student Councillor Investiture. Congrats to the NCDCC Trainee Councillor for being invested into Student Councillor and NCDCC Student Councillor for remaining strong in the Councillor Board ! Not to forget , congrats to the SNCOs and Apache too ! GOOD JOB !

CPR Course

BRONCO '2010

On 10 July 2010,

Bronco went for their CPR(Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation) Course. It is conducted at HTA.

In the morning, we had to report at foyer on 6.45am. Most of them were punctual even though its very early ! Mr Yang and Maam Norita came with us too. When the chartered bus came, we board in and head to HTA. After we had reach, we went for our lesson about CPR and FBAO. The trainers taught us efficiently! Next, we had our theory test after lesson followed by our breakfast which is provided. After we are full, we had our FBAO(Foreign Body Airway Obstruction) and CPR practical test. Lunch was then provided too. At the end of the day, all Bronco cadets passed their CPR Course ! GOOD JOB GUYS! CPR Badges were given to us and we then board the bus chartered by HTA to drop at Jurong East MRT Station. After that, we went home!

CCA Camp 2010'

CCA Camp 2010' !

25th - 27th May,

A CCA Camp had been held for all CCAs ! Its was an unforgettable event that happened to all NCDCC Cadets! Apache, Bronco and Cougar had bond well together and get to know each other more during the camp. Lets recap all back!

First day, we get together, put camp stuffs at classroom according to level and off for recess. After filling our stomachs up, we were divided into groups and was given time to know our family for the camp, create group name and also cheer! Groups had to then present their name and cheer.

Unique names were created by them,, (exp) Fire Buster, Uncle Tom, etc. We then had musical PT. Did some strechings together with cool songs being played! Games like dog and bone were played too. Some had injured themselves during parts of the game but it was enjoyable as well! We were then gathered back, lunched for an hour and had lessons to improve on.

Outdoor cooking was next. Sec ones learnt from the older ones on how prepare for outdoor cooking. Cleaned up and night walk at Henderson Waves next! Fun and thrilling time there! All came back school as one. Washed up and lights off .

2nd Day, went canteen and had our breakfast and off for assembly. Gathered back after that, took attendance and had recess. Cougar was with SNCOs and NCOs, Bronco was with ASM Amirul and Apache was with RSM Ilham after that.

Lunched again, changed to Full Uniform.

Had a parade for 3 Sec 2s cadets who had achieved an ATC badge. They deserve it!

Next,, off for CIP ! Groups were assigned to certain block and had to go door to door in order to collect canned food from residents to be donated at elderly. The CIP went smoothly! Cadets went back to school, changed to school related shirts and shorts. Learnt some cheers, dinner and CAMPFIRE was next!

NCDCC was very hyper during the campfire! There was dance battle between UGs too.

Congrats to NCDCC Dancers for winning it in first place ! And RSM won the best Lady Gaga replica? Congrats too! Campfire ended, lights out .

Last Day! Breakfast and assembly at parade square. NCDCC went to classroom block and had attendance taken in a formal manner by Platoon Heads. RSM Ilham took Apache while CSM Sofrie took Bronco!

Recess was at different timings. Before the end of the day, we played double whacko as a CCA!

Took our stuffs and prizes was given out!

GOOD JOB prize winners! Fall in and home sweet home for all !

Indonesian Buddy Camp

20th - 22th of May!

On that 3 following days, 10 people from Civil Defence Council(CDC) had played a part in helping out in the Indonesian Buddy Camp to get the situations more smooth during that camp! It was a 3 days 2 nights camp. We had organise games for them at the Henderson Waves during the first night for them to have fun and also to bond them with us more! Eventhough things did not get quite well during half part of the games, we had learnt our mistakes to improvise on it. On friday, we had NCDCC as usual. While in the afternoon, Apache had their training even though we are lacking of energy. We kept our energy running even after the training, as we had campfire with the Indonesian guest and also their buddies at the last night to get things smooth for all ! A dance was performed by the 1o of us to thank and welcome the Indonesians for visiting us. Saturday morning, we packed up and went home!

Sorry for not updating the blog for a long time! Hope NCDCC Cadets are satisfied with their examination result! For those who did not did well,, there is still End of Year Exam. There is still hope. Study hard ! Do not lose hope.

CDA visit (open house)

NCDCC HSS sec 1 cadets plus some of the sec 2 and our SNCO/NCO's went to the Community Bonding Day in CDA last Saturday(10Apr). We fall in at 1.15pm, Boon Lay MRT station. Then we took the YEC sponsor Bus from 661D to CDA. Reached CDA about 1.45pm and we had 3 tour guide from the SCDF helping us roam around the CDA. 2Pm was a the SCDF skit. The Skit was really awesome! Next, we went to the BA maze, Dog training skit plus we played Mist Gun, Fire Hose. Then we went to the showcase of the SCDF new technology. The New RED RHINO G2.0 is very cool! Next we went to the games area and played games to win some gift's.
On behave of NCDCC HSS , we would like to thank Mr Eric(YEC) for helping us on our trip.

Adventure Training Camp(ATC)

On 21-22nd of March, the Sec 2s went for their Adventure Training Camp(ATC) in order to get their ATC profiency badge. It was a 2 day 1 night camp at Changi. Sadly, some were not there but most of them were there. In the morning, the Sec 2s report at the canteen as Maam Park had catered a bus for us to reach Changi. She even prepared breakfast for us at the canteen. We appreciate it a lot! There, we were broken up into different groups but had a lot of fun mixing and making new friends from other schools. The best part was, at the end of the day, we had managed to overcomed our fears such as high elements, water and many more! There, we learnt a lot of things and also more about each other. Even though the weather was quite bad, our spirits were still there. Last but not least, I.C Muhammad Afiq won the best camper and the batch of Sec 2s this year won the campfire performance! We had made HSS NCDCC proud!

On Wednesday, 17th March,

The Sec 2s and some Sec 3s had a C.IP for the Jamiyah Children's home. At 8plus, we collected our tins and stickers at Al-Falah mosque. From there we were dismissed and had to ask people to donate for the children. Before that, thanks to Mrs Soong for buying us water as it was a very hot day at Orchard. All of us tried our best to collect money even a little bit. At 12.30, we had to report back to Al-Falah mosque and return the tins which is no longer empty but filled with money of to them. We had a fun and experienced day there!

It is sad to see time goes so fast. Seeing now my cadets grew up as a good leader make me proud. I believe they will be a better leader.

My job is done. But still i will be their shadow.

The next structure of the unit have no more RSM and CSM, however USM and ASM.

therefore, our RSM and CSM is the first and the last of HSS unit.

Congrats to USM Azurah for being a SC of the school. serve it well!!

Hey readers,
7 weeks has pass from the beginning of 2010 and Henderson NCDCC have been working hand to hand with each other to obtain wonderful results.
Friday the 12th
The new sec ones learn t the basics of fire safety while the sec two's and three's did their campcraft practical with maam Park .
While the rest of the cadets were with thier platoons.Three of our NCOs, ASM Amirul, Asm Jiong Ray and NCO Nadzif. Where at a Total Defence skit reharsal, perfecting thier roles. 11.15am CCA are to stop and go to the hall for the Chinese New Year celebration,first up was the Total Defence skit.Our NCOs made NCDCC proud by doing thier roles perfectly.

January has ended and February is coming to an end too. Every busy admin and logistic stuff had been done so. The last thing that stands i our way is the Speech day rehearsal. Our best man is down for it. So , the CCA sprits is not yet up to the MAX.

however, with the help of the RSM and CSM that burn their study time for the CCA. NCDCC is moving smoothly.

So cadets, we know that in the past we had been rough and tension to all. However its for our own good. We still foresee cadets that will get bored with our activities, so do help us to change and improve in all ways necessary.

HOD , UG teachers and cadets from others UG have been complimenting us. Lets be humble and aim higher!

This year we may not have RED RHINO with us to burst up the atmosphere however, its a well done job and we did attract alot of students.

3rd week of school

hey people,
its been 3 weeks have passed since the start of the new term.

First week
the first week of school was orienteering week so that means no cca for all,but our cca leaders were working hard preparing our booth to promote NCDCC to the sec 1.

Second week
The second week of cca,its time for the sec 1 to see our hard effort to make our booth happen,while some of the NCOs and I.Cs were in the hall promoting NCDCC,the sec 2 n 3s were having fun at the class rooms playing game.One of the best game was the darky thinky maze. The sec 2 and 3s where divied into 2 group then they have to work together to find their way out of the maze blind folded.

Third week

The third week of cca,we were with the new sec 1s on trial.we began with simple stretches then we started to do our basic PT. After recess,the sec 1 to 3s went up to do some foot drills,while some of the NCOs and I.Cs were seting up the game for the whole level.After the games,we had a mass parade with all the other cca`s.After the dismisal the NCOs and I.Cs hgad lunch then back to training our musical footdrills it was very unique.after finishing, we had a test about the bacis backgroung of NCDCC.

Hey people..

How was your holidays? Hope you guys had fun with your loves ones.

A warm happy 2010 to all.

To my cadets that’s been with the unit, welcome back! There’s a lot of changes in our unit. Game’s, event, non-UG activities is added on. In addition, we are opening a mini CD Band and sport group in our own CCA. We will try to be in all the consent in the school, our game’s PTI will be such as rugby, hockey and baseball etc. Your leaders had been trained during the nov and dec holidays, so do give them the fullest respect they need. We do listen to your sincere comments about NCDCC, therefore we are changing the system because of you guys. I wont be telling you more here, if not it wont be such surprise! Lastly, thanks for being with us and made the sprit up high!

To cut it short, HSSNCDCC will be bigger and better in 2010. Let us be the unique UG ever!

Cadets that lost any item or need to change any item, do let us know on the 1^st CCA day.

To all the student that consider NCDCC as your CCA in HSS. You people will not regret! Here, we will teach you how to be a great successes and a leader with our strong motto that is LEARN , LEAD , SERVE!

Henderson secondary school NCDCC cadets held the 4th NCDCC service day on 26/09/09 (Sat).
With the Unit RSM as the Student OIC, with Maam Norita As the school OIC. Four of other school NCDCC was also involve in the event as division 1 . south zone! Major Howard was the OIC from HQ on that event.
Beatty, ACS(I), HKSS, KRSS were the school that is involve. With the total strength of 116 on that day. 5 blocks around henderson was cover. The cadets provide CD knowledge to the citizen around there. Telling them about fire safety, CEPP, emergency preparedness and the new topic *ICE*.
It was a successful event.
HSS NCDCC like to thank all the people that ,make the event turn out great.

Hello dear HSS NCDCC cadets =)

In response to the comment that there is a lack of photos in this blog, I snapped away furiously just now and here is the product; ta-dah~

Today was the last CCA friday before the exams, and I hope everyone is preparing for the EOY exams. Also, good job for all the hard work put in so far this year! A big pat on the back to each and everyone of you; you deserve every badge and new rank you received this afternoon, and please continue to do your best, not only in CCA but also your studies.

A round of applause to all the ICs; remember, leadership is a kind of servitude ^^

On the 8th - 12th sep 09 , SSGT Ilham and Sofrie is going for UDI course. Its going to be a hard course as only 2 from each school can go each year. the 2 must be the best of the best.
From there, they will be promoted to WO with the approve interview by the HQ and OC unit.

Today basic school NCO training was darm fun and funny lor.

reported at 7.30am till 1pm

The claim the PTI was great.. Plus, the new improve footdrill MOI.

i try my best to give the very best to you all and i hope you appreciate it.

The straw game was also one simple test to be a leader but still the cadets make it strict.

Today is the last day of term 3.

We finish up the sec 1 first aid and sec 2 silver footdrill.

the cadets today perform very well and they move very fast and KILAT!

Proud of you guys, do take pride on what you are doing..

Hey people..
Today Our cadets for sec 2 did IPP. "Hazmat". It was crazy, some of them beat my timing. Me, the RSM. We make it as a game , best timing wins. So each of the cadets did thier very best. 4mins and less all my LCP n CPL do it.
Awesome!

Sec 1 however, My CSM Sofrie continue with the practical first aid as we want the sec1 cadets to be 100% well trained on first aid. Any fracture, come to them. Hee hee:)

Today was an informal day for HSS NCDCC.
We just did some theory and practical test.
Sec 1 advance first aid / Sec 2 Hazmat Theory.
However, after recess onwards it was a mini teacher's day in cca.
The sec one's perform a HEY TEACHER cheer , and the Sec2 present a skit.
It was funny , and lame and nonsense i can say because they didnt even try out the day before.
but effort thats counts.
I'm here the RSM didnt make it on that day due to my sickness. But i glad to say that im proud of you cadets. keep up the great job!

On the date 14/8/09, we started our cca with the PT then it was short,we also had our lessons
Sec2:Hazmat
Sec1:Total Defence
then we had our recess
after recess we had our mass parade then the badge ceremony for the I.Cs.Then after the whole ceremony it was about time and we march to the foyer and end our cca day with a loud NCDCC!Thats all!

CCA resume, We did some game in the morning then move on the lesson about CD shelter. After recess, cadets sit for the test then after that move on to footdrill.
RSM and CSM went for the NDP traning from 10-11am. It was ok n fun!
Today is also Mr rosli last day, the last 10mins we give him the farewell gifts and his last speech. Hope he take care and wish him all the best.

This year due to the H1N1 , our school didnt allow us to have overnite camp as like last year. However, our 3 days book in , book out camp was awesome!!! We have our own Nature Walk trip plus games at Mt Faber and Henderson Waves. Joke's game in school. The best things is, we are one big family and we look out for one another.

Henderson NCDCC Unit does not have any trained O/C, I ILham Adli SHah, willing to take up the position of Head Unit RSM in HSS NCDCC unit with full strength of 60cadets. I will follow the NCDCC motto strongly as i have Learnt and Lead , and now it is my duty to Serve my unit. Ex CPT Seet was the founder of HSS NCDCC. He helped in a lot of ways in the past one year of his service in this unit. After he leave, Ms Norita became the T/O of my unit, but Ms Norita is not a trained officer. I and her are trying our best to uphold the high standard of this UG CCA. I will try my very best to make HSS NCDCC the most unique UG CCA in Singapore. I will not only focus on the core NCDCC syllabus e.g fire fighting,rescue drills,paramedic and foot drill. I am here to add many different elements in the CCA program such as Sport, dancer and even Music productions.

I also like to thank my right hand man, Sofrie(3N1) who is the CSM in the unit , my IC's. Ms Tay, Ms Lye and Mr Rosli, the always-there-for-you teacher. With all these teachers in HSS NCDCC. I believe that my school will be proud to have us as part of their 7 Ugs CCA. Lastly , i like to thank Mrs Yeo for opening NCDCC in late 2007.

HSS NCDCC Took part on the 1st ever NCDCC DAY PARADE 09

With out the school knowing the full details about this parade, since 28 february 09. 13 of NCDCC cadets went for full time training to perfection their footdrill for the big day on 30th may 09. This cadets trained on theirs Saturdays and also march holidays. In that traning, they learnt a lot of new parade skill and item.

Henderson NCDCC has build up bigger strenght as years past. Therefore we do not want our systems of UG to remains the same always. The RSM anticipate the changes ahead and wants the cadets to feel the family bonding of the CCA. Therefore, we encourages cadets to have thier own outing, where they plan where to go to and the senior and RSM will tag along to get to know each other well outside school. However, at times the outing is still related to NCDCC.

Rescue Practical Lesson

These are our Secondary 2 cadets having rescue practical lesson.We were taught by the Civil Defence officers.We were having fun during the practical lesson as we are able to experience the life saving job of a fire fighter during emergency.This also increases our knowledge in rescuing.

The CCA orientation organised by our Secondary 2 and 3 cadets.They spent about 2 weeks to prepare the booth and printing brochures to attract the secondary 1s.They make it a successful orientation by attracting 25 new secondary 1 recruits to join our CCA.

CIP Activity

On 15th August 2008,NCDCC cadets and NCOs went to East Coast Park to conduct a cleaning activity which is one of their Community Involvement Programme.

They were there for 1.5hours under the hot sun patiently scouting the area to find rubbish such as empty cans and plastic wrappers.However,they found more cigagarette buds than other rubbish. Their involvement in the CIP enable them to be more environmentally conscious and be more aware of global warming.
